Funto 3rd May 2021

Mumsy, it’s still hard to believe that I am writing a tribute to you, as it reinforces the point that you are no more here. You were larger than life and such a warm, bubbly person that it’s hard to accept that you are no longer with us. No more daily WhatsApp messages from you or phone calls just to see how we are doing. I am so thankful for all the wonderful memories with you and everything you did to encourage and support my siblings and I growing up. So thankful that you really lived a life well spent, with lots of love, laughter, and friendship. So thankful for all the lives you touched and the legacy you have left behind, not just for your children and grandchildren, but also your numerous adopted children, nieces, and nephews. So thankful that we left nothing unsaid, you knew how much we loved you and we knew how much you loved us. I have never really understood or agreed with the statement “he or she is in a better place now” because it seemed so uncertain and dubious. However, now I know for sure that you are in a much better place now, called home by God, free from illness and pain and dancing with the angels in heaven. While I still had hope that you would have more decades to spend with us, I believe God has plans for you that are beyond our understanding, and we can only thank Him for the precious time we had spent with you. I am so proud of you Mum for fighting hard to the very end. Mumsy, I will cherish your memories in my heart forever and love you forever. Funto, Gbolly and Ninuola
